Train Stations at Lillooet and along the line

BC Archives # E-04218, old PGE Station at Lillooet, c.1918
BC Archives # E-04218
This is the original Lillooet station, or rather East Lillooet station, located on the flats across the Fraser from town near the site of what had briefly been Parsonsville many years before.  The Pacific Great Eastern's original owners had deemed land in the area of Lillooet proper to be too expensive for rights-of-way, never mind a station, so built the track directly across the Fraser in the area of Cayoosh Creek.  This station was built just across the railway bridge to serve area farmers and ranchers and theoretically as Lillooet's own station.  Because of the long haul to this depot by road around from town via the Old Bridge (then the New Bridge), the rail stop at Craig Lodge on Seton Lake was used by most townspeople, as it was much closer to town in practice.  When I first saw this picture I couldn't figure it out, as the angle on the local scenery indicates this location is nowhere near today's Lillooet Station!
